1998 Honda Accord Timing Belt and Cruise control

How important is the timing belt to be changed. Honda recommends after 100000 but I have had a number of other vehicles with well over that and never changed it. Also, when the cruise control is engaged there is a clicking that comes from under the hood. It only happens when the cruise is engaged and goes away after it is turned off. Thanks for your help!!

It is very important to replace the timing belt
serious engine damage may be caused if the belt brake
also the car will not start for you
so I would suggest have it serviced before you need a tow truck you are on a borrow time
