1998 Honda Accord please help me

I have a 1998 honda accord v6 I buyed it in april 2009 it has automatic transmission and when gears shifts it was jerking while going from 1st to 2nd just after a month.\R\nsince last week it was barely going to 3rd and 4th gear and since last two days its reverse gear is not working and I tried to use it once in a parking lot it worked but then it wasn't going forward.
so I went to the mechanic and he smelled the oil and said transmission is gone and 1500 dollars for rebuild transmission.
now my car only runs in 1st and 2nd gear please assist me what to do ?

my engine light is also on can you tell me any place form where I can replace my transmission for cheaper.
please reply. Would you prefer me to sell the car or I can use it after repairing my transmission.

If the fluid level is correct, there is nothing much that you can do except to rebuild or replace the transmission as it is faulty.

Autozobe provides free scanning services. Get a scan done and let me know the exact trouble code for the Check Engine Light showing. This might be the cause for the transmission problem as well, so it should be rectified first. All engine trouble codes takes precedence over otheres.

For $1500, I would say that is a good price and I doubt you would get anything cheaper.
