No! Period -disconnecting the battery can give the computer a curve ball -needing relearning process-

The catch here better hope the CEL pass the bulb test during the test-

LOL.

If the check light is on, there is something wrong with the engine management system, you need to find out what the problem is and rectify it.

Get a scan to find the source.
