So its a manual and when the RPM hits 4k (vtech) it kills the accelerator and bogs down as if it were red-lining. Computer at advanced auto parts said "fuel air"something or other. The guy said maybe throttle position sensor, or some other sensor.

any ideas and how to links would be helpful.

Hi krizzeam,

The most common fault for premature rpm cut is due to a bad or out of adjustment TPS.

Get the TPS check.

Is the check engine light on? It could be low on oil and the ecm cuts the vtec sytem. Check the oil level make sure is at the full mark.
