How can I tell if I should head to the place I bought my battery from (it's still under warranty), or to a mechanic to check out the alternator/charging system in case I only get one more crank out of the car?

Hi danareid,

Head to the place you bought the battery and let them sweat over what to explain and advise you.

Is there any indicator light showing?
If you have a volt meter, you can test the charging rate.
Is there any problem with the battery terminals (clean and well secured?) And starter?
