1996 Honda Accord Struts or no struts

Does this vehcile have struts or not? A mechanic states that they are there, the manual, "With a full double-wishbone suspension, the Accord does away with the McPherson struts most other cars have these days, so you'll only be in for shocks at replacement time." I should only need shocks? How do I tell?

Yes your car has struts. Usually th estrut contains th espring as well, they are 2 seperate pieces that are assembled as one piece. This is why you should use a strut compressor to replace them so you can compress the spring to remove the top retainer
