1996 Honda Accord Check Engine Light

My Engine Light is on and will not go off, what could be the problem? I would like to have a general idea before I take it to a mechanic

Take the vehicle to an Autozone and have them scan the computer. That will give you the codes. Get back with us the codes, so we can give you the general idea of what to be fixed.

The codes given to me at Auto Zone are:

1. TCC dosen't Engage

2. Open or Shut Circuit

3. Electrical Connection

4. TCC System 740

What I meant was that I need the code numbers to match with the Technical Service Bulletin. If I am to guess:

1. TCC dosen't Engage: P0741 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Performance or Stuck Off

2. Open or Shut Circuit: P0742 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Stock On

3. Electrical Connection: P0743 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Electrical

4. TCC System 740: P0740 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Malfunction
