1995 Accord LX Speedometer

Hi my friend has a 95 Accord with 50000 miles on it. Here speedometer frequently works and she wants to get it fixed. I am going to fix it for her but I wanted to know if its mechanical or electrical driven. That way I can narrow it down to a cable or a sensor. Thanks BOB

There is very little mechanical anymore. The sensor is located on the tranny. This problem is usually sensor or guage related.

Thanks we figured after we didnt see any cable in the firewall. She said here odometer works so it probably is the tranny sensor then Right. BOB

Today she told me info that would have HELPED yesterday. Her odometer doesnt work when the speedo doesnt work. That made us think it was here sensor behind the dash. I was told to go to a junkyard and buy a whole new dash insert. BOB
