Hi,

I was told that the left CV boot was torn (?), What affect would it do if I don't change it? How dangerous is it if it is not changed?
Also, how much about would it cost?

Thank you very much.

If you dont fix it the cv joint will go out and will make a loud grinding noise when turning or driving. Or it will eventually just go out and leave you stranded somewhere.

Your best bet is have a new axleshaft put on since the boot is torn the joint may be rusted already and its not worth the trouble of cleaning it up and putting on a new boot.

Pricewise they are very close aroudn 150 bucks parts and labor.

Call around to find the best price at a respectable place, dont go with a backyard mechanic to save a few bucks.
