I noticed that when driving along at 60mph with cruise on it seemed like car would hesitate occasionally. The rpm's were not dropping or revving up but it would hesitate. I was doing brakes today and noticed when I put wheel back on I had about an inch of movement. I had axles replaced a few years back so I was wondering if it could be something where the splines go into the tranny? The tranny shifts throughout the gears fine and does fine whenever you are accelerating. I have never had anything done to the tranny so I guess I am due. I am going to check around to see about getting it rebuilt but wanted to check here to see if I am on the right path. Car runs excellent just got this problem. Wanting to see if I can hit 500,000 miles.
Thanks,
Tom

Hi there,

What you are feeling is a bit of back lash inn the differential gears, this is normal, but I would go get the transmission serviced as a matter of course as this will help you keep on the road with out any transmission problems.
