1993 Honda Accord oil pressure light

I was driving to work about 11 miles freeway. Oil light came on and noticed dipstick was dry. Added 4 quarts of oil. Light went off. Later, at home, I noticed a large oil spot in the driveway. Could the oil sending unit be bad and if so how do I repair it?

Check the oil pan and drain plug-low oil will cause the oil light to come on. Level okay check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge if normal replace the oil pressure switch abnormal could mean oil pump and engine bearings
