When I try to close my hood it doesnt quite catch the hood latch and close properly all the way. It will only catch the release but not lock up, how can I fix this?

Do a couple of things. First, examine the exposed cable to see that the cable is in good condition. If the cable breaks and the hood is fully latched, that is a bear to tackle. Next, lubricate with a light grease the cable as you open and close the latch from inside the vehicle. The latch itself needs to be oiled to free it. The cable and/or the latch is not allowing the latch to be in the proper position to accept the hood allowing full closure. You can manually close the latch assembly and shut the hood.

Bruce Almighty -

how does one manually close the hood latched securely by the lock? Or are you saying to manually close the latch first and then shut the hood? That aint gonna work, do it?

- thank you in advance,
Mark
