1993 Honda Accord 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 289k miles

hello.I have a 93 honda accord.289,000mi. For the last 2yrs. With no pattern I will be driving and my car will just die. Like I ran out of gas. And if I try to turn it over it just acts like its out of gas. If I let it sit for a hour or more. It will start right up. Sometimes I can drive 3 months or more and it wont happen. Sometimes 2 times in a week it will die. Today after work I started it. Made it 10 feet and it died. Has never done it that fast before. So it is sitting at work untill tomorow. And I will go see if it start. Please help.

Hi sleestack9000,

Symptoms described seems to indicate an intermittently failing PGM-FI main relay, which is a known issue for this model.

Remove the relay and unplug it from the housing. Look out for micro cracks on the printed circuit board. Resoldering the cracked joints would help if that is the cause.

Check if the dash lights are showing when engine stalled, if none are showing, problem could be due to a bad ignition switch.
