I have a 93 Accord. I had the master cylinder replaced 4 months ago. First, two months- everything good. Start of third month- buddy borrows my car and wrecks car. Doesn't give me any information aboutwhat happened- ran away. But- other than medium damage to the driver door and fender, the car cranked, and driving it from the impound lot- it drove fine- after changing the door and the fender- I started driving it normally. The last month the car hasn't been driven. Mainly because when driving the car- it seems like after it warms up- about (10-15 miles) the brakes even when your going downhill, or with the gas pedal down all the way- the car will slow down- as if the brakes are engaged. I heard different responses with other people's various questions. Could it be the master cylinder install, or the wreck? What could it be? Please help. Also, the front pasenger wheel was smoking one time- smelled like brake fluid- so I took the tire off- and saw that someone unbolted both bolts off the ABS cable (the wire) and the wire and bracket were hanging down- and the tire I guess rubbed through the sheaving of the wire, and 1 of the 2or3 wires was scrapped open. So I took the sheaving off sbout 2 inches, taped up the one that was scrapped open, then taped each individual, then taped them together. Is this part of the problem?

Hi CCCtheprez,

There is a possibility the brake calipers are stuck and when this occurs, the brakes would heat up if you drive a certain distance.

Check the calipers piston and slider bolts for binding.
