Transmission problem
1992 Honda Accord Automatic

When I put my car in drive it rolls back but when I tap the brake it jumps forward. While driving I can't go faster than 20mph. The rpm goes up but not the gas. I put 4qts of transmission fluid in. What is wrong?

Hi maneswifey1129,

When vehicle rolls in park, it indicates the parking gears are faulty. This problem is caused by the transmission end lock nuts for the parking gears working themselves loose.

This would also result in internal leakages and the slipping symptoms you described. The trans ia bad and has to be rebuilt or replaced.
