At times she runs great, but then when I shut it off it will not start, try, try let it sit then it starts, shut it off, it won't start. I've changed the distributor guts (that I could), going to change plugs, air filter, fuel filter, slowly going through it. I put a spark tester on and instead of being bright white/blue, it was orange-ish(?). Any suggestions?

Hi Steven,

The coil is bad and producing weak sparks which would be difficult to start.

Another item to check would be the main relay underdash. It controls the fuel pump.

It has a new coil, does not mean it is good, but I was moving to the relay next. There is a wire I could not follow running from the distributor igniter. I could not follow to where it goes, looks like it runs inside. Also, when I engage the ignition there is a semi loud click coming form underneath the passenger side floor.

Hi Steven,

Hope the diagram is enlightening. The two white wires goes to the ECM.
