I have a 90 accord I did a motor swap from f22a1 to f22b1 95 motor. I have wired the harness and got the car to turn over but it wont stay running. I also could not get the cluster gauges to work so my question is what am I doing wrong or what can I do to correct these issues?

Hi ronjr43,

When swapping engines, the original wire harness was used?

Meter cluster not working is most probably due to wiring fault and you are not able to keep engine running, I would suspect the ignition switch to be faulty.

You asked me if I used the original harness, well I have both the 90 and the 95, there a lil different concidering im goin to non vtec to vtec, I do have the correct ecu im still useing the original harness inside the car. Im just tryin to figure out on the engine harness since there connectors r set differently on the 95 how ro make the 95 harness work on the 90 wires in the car, or just splice a couple things from th e95 harness and make it work on the originall 90 engine harness. Thats where im getting a little lost on making that happen I checked the ignition switch and all the componets and there still good from what the multimeter read so now its just basically what to do next. Thankyou

Hi ronjr43,

Basically there is not much difference in the wire harness. V-Tec need 3 more wires for the V-Tec solenoids from the ECM.

I will sent the schematics to you via email as the diagrams don't show well here.

There is some difference basically because now I would have to spice the pos n neg wire from the old distibutor to the new becauce the old have 7 wires to the connector and the vtech has 5, and there set up differently fon the mounting harness thats connected to the firewall of the vehical, the other parts of the harness is located on the other side of the vehical, just a big rat race to chase. Lol. Im just really confused I see other ppl online that have done this job but I can never get in contact with any of them to really find out the specifics! But u can sent the diagrams to me at ronjr43@yahoo. Com and kinda guide me through it, thank you again
