Smells problem
1989 Honda Accord 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

I just bought it, and for some reason the valve gasket seal wasn't on right, I put a new gasket and I have been getting oil in my air filter(lots) any idea what I should try next? Also, it smokes a lot only when I let off the gas

Hi hickler,

I believe yours is a carburetted model?

The engine is in bad shape and excessive blowby gas is carrying oil into the air filter. Oil is being burnt in the cylinders or leaking from the exhaust valve stem seals into the exhaust system causing the excessive smoke.

Either you get the engine rebuilt or you would need to replace it.
