I just recently had to buy a new battery for my '89 Honda Accord that I've had for 5 years now. When I go to attach the cables, only my headlights are on eventhough I have them switched off and it keeps blowing my battery fuse. Is it just simply having the cables on backwards. And how can I remedy this if the cables ends have no distinguishing marks to tell me where positive and negative go?

Hi there,

The earth cable is always a bit smaller in the terminal size, and it should have a black cover, also the cable will go directly to the body or chassis, if in doubt get some one to check for you as if you do hook up back to front you can do serious damage to the electrical system.
