Is it possible for a brand new installed cv joint to be bad? We just had both sides replaced and the axle bearings replaced. Now there is a clicking sound. Took it back to mechanic, he said it was ok because there was not any grease coming from them. Any suggestions. Thanks, Kim

Hi Kim,

It is possible for new CV shafts to be bad and clicks.

Check the installation and tightening of linkages.

Sometimes it requires some running in before the clicking noise goes away.

Go to a large open space anf turn the steerint to almost full turn and drive the car slowly for a few rounds. Reverse the turning direction and if the noise goes away, it should be ok. If not, you should get the mechanic to have another look and let you know what causes the noise.
