1992 Holden Commodore making bad noises

Hi I have a 1992 v6 vp commodore with 306161 on the clock. Im getting a really bad noise coming from the engin. The harmonic balancer is tight and not worn. I took the belt off and the noise went. But when I put the belt back on the noise starting again. While idle the nosie is there but wen reving the engin its gone.

Hi there,

the inner & outer parts of the harmonic balancer give way on these, if the rubber is torn I would look closely here, also check all bearings on water pump, alt, idler & A/C.
