I am taking my car listed above to the shop for an oil change. What type of oil should be used. High mileage or full synthetic? I have heard that synthetic oil should not be used in high mileage cars. 214,000 miles and had the car for 1 year. I am getting the ''engine oil change is due" light and any help would be appreciated before I go to the shop. Thank you

Hello,

You can use any good quality oil in the correct weight.
Ford recommends to use 5W-20 weight oil. You can use the high mileage oil which has some extra additive that can help with wear of the engine. You can also use Synthetic oil if you prefer. Typically on this vehicle the conventional oil gets used or high mileage oil if it is a higher mileage car. This car uses 4.5 Quarts of oil.

I have attached the oil light reset procedure for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
