Car listed above is a DE model.
Recently pulled the instrument cluster to inspect fuel gauge and for burnt out instrument lights.
Unable to see the odometer anymore.
Undid the positive battery cable.
Upon completion and hooking things back up, the car now starts and idles at 2,500 RPMs.
It was fine before undoing the battery and checking the instrument cluster.
No vacuum leaks that I can find.
Fairly new throttle position sensor, and idle air control valve.
There was a tiny vacuum leak in the hose for the fuel pressure regulator to the intake manifold, snipping that off and pulled vacuum on the hose with hand pump vacuum tester shows okay, and replace hose.
Any ideas?

Believe I already resolved the problem. Found what appears to be a sticky IAC valve.
Took it apart, and the internal magnetic part seemed sticky. Didn't spin freely.
Turned it some, and put some WD Silicone spray around it. Work it back and forth some.
Put the thing back on and seem to take care of the issue. Had to re-adjust the idle some.
But can someone tell me how many turns the Idle Speed Screw should be turned out as a starting point once it has been fiddle with too. LOL. Throttle body pick, part number 9.
Thanks much.

Hi,

When I start adjustment, I go 1.5 turns out as a starting point.

As far as this vehicle, if you look at the first two pics below, they provide the directions for basic idle speed adjustment. The last pic is for SAS adjustment (secondary air system). If no one has touched that adjustment, leave it alone. Otherwise, follow those directions.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
