I need to replace the low/hi press. Hoses and they have those round type locking connectors( one going into the condenser, the other into the dryer. What kind of tool I need to loosen the locking connectors. Thanks for your help.

Take a look at the picture. I just want to make sure we are talking about the same type of line.

If it is then you need to use a fuel line disconnect tool to release these. Take a look at the pictures.

Basically you just need to push it in and hear a click then the spring inside is released and then turn the line back and forth to slide it off.

Let me know if you have questions. Thanks

Hello. After replacing hoses, accumulator, orifice tube, vacuumed the system for over 2 hours.(Vacuum pump was only 1.8 cfm) perfect vac(30" Hg) did not break vacuum. Now I'm trying to recharge system and according to gauges with engine off 85psi low/45 hi. Engine idle- 40psi/low comp kicks in brings press to 30 and hi to 45psi. It is not taking any 134, even though I have the engine running, watering the condenser, etc. What do you think?
Again, thanks for your help.

The fact that your high side pressure is not changing at all sounds like the high side has a restriction. If you replaced the orifice already then we can assume that is not stuck closed.

I would suggest separating the system again and blowing about 30 psi of compressed air through the lines and see if you can feel it coming out the end of the high side.

Did you add more oil when you put these parts on it? If so, how much?

Hey buddy, I'm happy to say there was no obstruction. It was just slow taking the 134. It's holding at 45/325 in a 90 degree outside temperature. Again, thanks for your help. You guys are awesome.

Sorry about the delay. It's working great, thanks to you guys. Now it's my gf's 2000 century's turn. She took it to a shop. Was told it was the comp. If the system is empty, the comp won't work.I probably will be needing your assistance on this one as well. Thanks again, appreciate the help.

That is great news.

However, we need to get a new post started for that vehicle and the issue that it is having. Here is a link for a new post. We need to keep each post to one vehicle and one topic so that others that have the same vehicle with the same issue can find it. They won't find an issue on a century under a Ranger vehicle.

Thanks for the update on this vehicle.
