My car uses more gas than it did when I bought it what can cause it to use more gas? And all my lights are on my dash and none of my gages work on my dash what could that be?

What do you mean by "all my lights"? Are you referring to warning lights? If so, please be specific and tell me which ones. If the Check Engine light is on, the place to start is by having the diagnostic fault codes read and recorded. The people at many auto parts stores will do that for you for free.

If the Check Engine light is not on, reading the fault codes is still a good place to start. For poor fuel mileage, another common cause is dragging brakes. Stop on a slight incline, shift to neutral, then see if the car creeps downhill on its own.

For the dead gauges, have you checked for blown fuses?

What's a rodeo? Are you saying your Check Engine and Security lights stopped working or you hooked them up? What exactly were you working on?
