Hesitation on acceleration

Dodge Neon with 2.0L manual trans. Starts perfect, idles fine, start acceleration and at about 2000 RPM the car hesitates until I get above 2000 RPM, then I get P0339 code and the car runs perfect. I can do start stops, high speeds and the car runs smooth, accelerates fine, runs like a normal engine. Turn key off, and when I start the car again I go through the same process. Finally after some amount of miles I get a P0315 code, the check engine light starts flashing, at that point my gas mile drops and at stop signs the idle is too high. Have replace sensors, coil pack, plugs, plug wires.

These are the codes

P0339 Crank Pos Sens Circ Interm

P0315 Crank Pos Sys Variation Not Learned

Have you replaced the crank and cam sensors? It sounds like an issue with ignition timing being caused by the sensors.

Hey Guys,

This is a common problem and what happens is the timing belt gets worn out and jumps one tooth causing a correlation problem. Replace the belt and the codes will go aways along with the engine hesitation.

Please let us know happens so it will help others.

Best, Ken
