44 - Oxygen sensor lean exhaust

Okay, to begin with, the most common cause of a lean fuel mixture is a vacuum leak. The engine needs a metered amount of air and fuel to run properly. If there is a leak, too much air enters the engine causing a lean mixture.

With that said, I need to ask if the same code has returned since the sensor was replaced? Also, have you checked for vacuum leaks? The 3.8L V6 is a great engine, but they did have some problems with intake gaskets leaking.

Let me know.
