Help with timing jump

100,000 MILES • 2.2L • 4 CYL • FWD • AUTOMATIC

Ecotec 2.2 jumped timing. Timing chain loosens and tightens as I turn crank. Need some suggestion on why it's doing so. I'm certain the piston hit intake valves on 1 cylinder which I'm pretty sure caused the valve lifters to break. I hope I only have to replace timing kit and worse case them 2 valves. Just want to know if the timing jumping could bend crank or cam shaft. If not then what else could be causing the tighten/loosen of the timing chain. It is a dohc by the way.

If the timing jumped then there was slack in the timing chain enough to allow it to jump.Sounds like you have a bad timing chain tenisor and or broken timing chain guide.You would have to get a complete timing chain kit guides chain chain tenisor new cam bolts and new crank bolt.You would also have to pull the head of you have bent valves.I have seen bent valves split valve guides etc from the valves hitting the pistons.Never seen a cam bend or piston break.A piston break could happen if the impact was great enough.Also never saw a crank bend the connecting rod would bend before the crankshaft did.
