Oil everywhere after dealer changed the oil

I’ve had my car for four to five years about a month a go was the first time I took my car to this specific dealership for an oil change. After that I started to have an oil leak and smoke and a terrible burning smell. When we opened the hood it was everywhere. On the hood drilling down pretty much every where. We had some one change a gasket, we changed the oil filler cap and nothing. Also, called the dealership and they asked if I took pictures the first time it happened which I did not.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Either they left the oil fill cap off or the canister that holds the oil filter was left loose or the o-ring was damaged, forgotten, they used two o-rings, or the wrong filter not allowing the filter housing to fully seat.

I'm not sure if that is what you are asking, but I hope it helps. If I misunderstood your question, let me know.

Take care,
Joe

Hi Brian,

I'm happy to help, but I need a bit more info. I assume you have an oil leak. I need to know which engine you have in the vehicle. It could be a 1.4L turbo, a 1.8L, and even a 2.0L diesel.

Let me know that. Also, let me know if this is something that started after work was done or if it just started.

Take care and God Bless,

Joe
