Heater only stay on vent won’t transfer vents?

My heat and air works good but they only stay on vent won’t transfer to defroster

A bad mode door actuator can cause the inability to change the airflow direction to different vents. Instructions below on how to get to it and replace it.

Remove instrument panel insulator panel - left side. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side.
Remove the communication interface module. Refer to Communication Interface Module Replacement.
Reposition any wiring or hoses to gain access to mode control cam actuator.

Mode Control Cam Actuator
Procedure

Disconnect wiring connector at actuator.
Calibrate the mode control cam actuator.

I agree with KRAKENAUTO, it does sound like a bad MODE blend door actuator. Please let us know what happens.
