I have an issue where my heater is in the off poistion and still blows hot air I need to know because me and my father did it last summer but dont remember how to run the heater hoses to where it wont blow hot air till I can afford to fix it properly it has a 2.5 4 cylinder engine and has a hose from the intake to the heater core and a hose from the thermastat housing to the heater core too just wonder if I could run the one from the
thermastat housing to the intake and not hurt anything to bypass the heater core

It is a vent that is open allowing a small amount of heat into the compartment.

It is not the heater hoses.
You need to do it correctly. It is the only way.

Try putting a shut off valve in one of the heater hoses.
