Hello, The heat on my heated and cooled seat quit working on the driver side only of my Vehicle. I have removed the filters and cleaned them and have verified that the fans are in fact working on the seat bottom and seat back. When the heat button is pushed the light and fans start. Within five seconds, then fans reduce speed for another five seconds, then speed up again for a few seconds, then they shut off and the light goes out. Until I reset the ignition key the lights or seat fans will not turn on. After turning ignition off then on again, the fans and light does the same as previously mentioned. Passenger seat works fine as well as the drivers cooling which would indicate that the fuses and grounds are fine. I understand that these use a thermometric system and not a heat element (is that correct?). I also wonder if the module under the passenger seat could fail only in the symptom that I have. Also could it be the TED and if so I do not find any replacement information for them. Frustrating because I live in Michigan and would not mind not having a cold arse to start the day. :-). Any help would be appreciated since there is very limited troubleshooting information on these Navigators.

Hello,

It sounds like the controller has gone bad which can be caused by the TED drawing too many amps. Here are the wiring diagrams so you can see how they system works and the module and TED locations. I would try to find used ones and plug them in to see what happens. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Cheers, Ken
