Headlight switch won’t turn headlights off in any position. Headlights are on when you start the car and stay on in all positions of the switch. Fog lights won’t turn on when the switch is pulled out, this is built into headlight switch. I changed the headlight switch and did not cure the problem.

Hi,

I will need to know if this has daytime running lights or not. However, based on your description, the first thing I would check is the high beam relay. If it checks good, then check the low beam.

These relays are located in the junction box at the end of dash and accessible when you open the driver's door. See pic 2 for location.

Pic 1 below shows the relay locations. If you can, remove the high beam relay first. Shake it to see if anything sounds loose in it. If not, switch it with a different relay having the same part number to see if that helps. Also, do this with the low beam relay as well.

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

Joe

Headlights are on at all times. Headlights come on as soon as I start the car. The switch will not turn them off. I changed switch and it did not help.

It sounds like the BCM is going out or you have a stuck low beam relay. Here is the location of the relay so you can swap it out. I have also included the headlight wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works. Swap the relay out and if that does not help, we will need to do a CAN scan to help confirm the BCM failure. You can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) which will work on most cars from Amazon.

Here is a video to show you how:

Check out the images (below). Please upload pictures or videos in your response of any problems so we can see what to help you with.
