Good morning.

Below is the procedure. If you are going to replace one side, I suggest doing both sides.

Roy

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then drain cooling system and engine block.
2. Remove intake manifold and exhaust manifolds.
3. On 1991-1992 models, remove rocker arm covers.
4. On all models, remove alternator lower mounting bolt and position alternator aside.
5. Remove dipstick tube and bracket.
6. If equipped with A/C, remove compressor and forward mounting bracket and position aside.
7. Remove power steering pump and bracket, position aside.
8. Remove rocker arm cover, rocker arms and push rods. Keep rocker arm, rocker arm balls and push rods in order so they can be installed in the same position.
9. Remove diverter valve, if equipped.
10. Remove cylinder head bolts and cylinder head.
11. Reverse procedure to install. Apply suitable sealer to cylinder head bolts and gradually torque bolts to specifications in sequence shown in Figs. 5 and 6.
