I replaced the hazard switch and now the blinkers blink fast on both sides and the bulbs are good. Was wondering where I should look for corrosion build up?

Hello,

It's not an issue with corrosion build up, this is a problem that the Impalas around that year range had and wasn't really resolved. Many people have had the same exact issue, I'll show you the wiring diagrams, but there is a small logic chip inside the hazard switch assembly, and it seems to be a design flaw, some people have issues with just one side flashing fast with the turn signals because the circuit runs through the hazard switch. You can check a few Ground locations and do a really good check of the bulb sockets for the turn signal lamps. The front turn signals Ground at the top of the Radiator support on the driver side (G101) and the rear Ground at (G302) which is under the passenger front door opening.

But a temporary trick to getting things to work correctly, and I don't know if this will work in all cases, but it was to turn the hazard switch on and off in rapid pattern a few times, and for whatever reason this resets the logic chip to stop flashing the turn signals fast. You can try this, check the ground locations and the bulb sockets for any corrosion, but besides that there is no Technical Service Bulletins on this problem that I've seen yet, but If I find any more information, I'll post it here.
You can also try getting an OEM hazard switch from Chevrolet and see if they have resolved the issue. I'm finding that some have a bad solder joint inside the assembly too,
I'm assuming you had no issue with the turn signals before the hazard switch replacement. The Ground (G201) for the hazard switch is down under the driver side dash to the right of the steering column, unfortunately there is no picture for this ground location.
Since both sides are having the same issue, I don't think it's an incorrect bulb selection. The only issue I keep finding is this logic chip that acts as the flasher unit. Really trying another hazard/flasher from Chevrolet is the other option or call the dealership at least and ask if they have a solution. And does the Instrument Cluster flash fast as well?
What was the original failure that you changed the flasher for?
I did find this part # 000010359031, this is for the dealership part I believe. There are so many cases of this same problem over and over. If I find any more information i'll post it here ASAP.
