Convertible top won't work period. If I disconnect the negative battery cable wait 30 minutes reconnect reset front windows still won't work. What will happen if I disconnect both battery cables and touch them together? Will that clear out the fault codes and reset the top so it will work? Thanks

Hello,

To initialize/reset the convertible top module you will have to use a specialty scan tool.
Infinity does not provide us with any other way to resetting it.

Also, you will need to retrieve the codes for that module. That way the issue is determined.

I have attached attached the procedure below for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.

Thanks for the quick response. However, I've recently done what you suggested to no avail nothing happened by pressing up/down switch. What about touching the battery cables together for 5 minutes will that clear out the fault codes and reset the top? Thanks again, Cappyal

Those instructions are to be used with a scan tool performing these types of reset.

Not sure about the battery cable trick. I have not seen one reset in that manner. It might work, but not something that is listed on the repair manual.

Thanks again for your help. Where can I purchase a scanner that will help correct this issue? I tried to find a consult III but couldn't?

Thanks,
Cappy

There are several scanners with many different price points. Do search on amazon and you will find many scanners. Just be sur that they have the ECU and other component programing capabilities. Most of them will need to say that it covers your year G37.
The right scanner can run north of $1,000.00.
