What are the possibilities of causes? When I am in park and I first tap the gas you will hear a light grinding metal sound, but as I continue to press the gas pedal further in it goes away. After 1k RPM but if I let go of the gas and press it again the same thing will happen. Could this be like a transmission issues? I also know that sometimes when I am going to turn on my truck it wont turn on unless I play with the shift changer then I will retry and it will turn on. I know my shift changer might need some work but I want to figure out the grinding noise problem.

You need someone to actually listen for where the noise is coming from, but as a guess, I would start by inspecting the exhaust heat shields. It is not uncommon for them to corrode away around their mounting holes, then rattle from engine vibration. Less common is chunks broken loose and rattling inside a catalytic converter. You can identify that by banging on them with a rubber hammer.

Hey thanks I had someone listen to it like you stated. While I held the gas lightly he said it sounds like it was coming from a pulley like the bearing was rusted or something

You can verify that by running the engine briefly with the serpentine belt removed. Usually it's the bearings in idler pulleys and tensioner pulleys that make noise.
