I have a 99 suburban and I went out to start it and the battery was dead. I quick charged it and left it running. I got side tracked and it ran out of gas. So I had a dead battery and an empty tank. I put some gas in and charged the battery but now it won't start. I tried turning the key to let the efi kick in but it still won't start. I put the charger on and it isn't the battery. Does anyone know what's wrong or what I might be able to do to make it start? I live in a very rural area off a dirt road and hate to have to call a tow truck. Thanks a lot. Penny aka dumb blonde

Car2 might be right. Are there any other symptoms? I suppose you hear the car revving the engine, but the engine never turns over by itself? Apparently in fuel injection cars you can sometimes ruin the fuel pump by running it totally out of gas. If the fuel pump is shot, no fuel is will get to the engine, so no go. Without more information, that's my best guess.
