Electrical problem
2003 GMC Yukon Four Wheel Drive Automatic 88753 miles

My vehicle just recently started acting funny with the oil pressure gauge. (I think thats what it is). Now when I turn the car on the it goes to 40 but when I drive a little faster it will immediately go up and sometimes gradually come back down to close to 40. I get the oil change every 2000miles, and this just started happening maybe about 2wks ago. Is there something wrong with the Cluster Sensor?

Could be the oil pump on its way out-to find out hook up a mechanical gauge and read the oil pressure

Its probably just the oil pressure switch out of calibration-Do you hear any type of engine knocking noises? If not-your shot with the switch

Nothing is knocking. The truck sounds the exact same from when I first got it. It drives smooth and everything. Its just that guage thats making me nervous. It will go past 40 but a few seconds later it will go back to normal. It doesn't go low on pressure either.

You got nothing to worry about as long as when it reaches 60psi it drops indicating the oil pump pressure relief valve is opening.
