Unless your talking about trailer lites, the brake lites shouldn't effect the turn lites? I just wanted to add, on some systems the lower brake lites are wired through the turn signal switch. Unless you talking about trailer lites, your brake lites are not wired that way. There could be a problem with the ground circuit? I'd check for voltage and ground at the suspect circuits.
