I have recently has all brakes and rotors replaced drums turned and since have had this scraping noice almost the same as you would hear if your pads were low but it is coming from the drive shaft area. It only happens when the car rolls foward or backward it does not have to happen during accelleration just rolling when the drive shaft turns. GM won't even look at it for under 700.00 saying it is the 4wd tranny. Can you help me?

Yes GM did the rear brake drums and brakes this noise started before GM did the rear brakes but after another shop did the front. GM said the noise was from a blemish on the aftermarket brake pads the prev shop used but it was not detrimental to change them if I didn't mind the noise but they did in fact turn the drums on the rear and brake job also and now the noise is under the truck and when I touch the drive shaft it makes the same noise as if I were rolling back and forthe seems to be coming from somewhere there like maybe the transfer case the drive shaft goes into first which is the 4 wheel drive? I sure do hope not but if you have any insight at all to eliminate the cheapest first it would be appreciated.

I would get a second opinion, but at 200K miles, it very well could be the transfer case.
