My GMC Yukon will not crank unless I put the gear in neutral and then crank it. And if I put it back in park it wont come out of park with out shutting the engine off and starting the entire cranking sequence over which means I gotta put it back in neutral and then crank the truck up. What is wrong with my ignition and transmission.

This is caused by a faulty Neutral / Park Safety Position Switch. It is not a tranny or ignition fault, just a bad safety switch.

Bluelightnin6 thanks for the response. Would you by chance happen to know where this switch is located on one of these trucks?

Should be located on the steering column, under the dash.
