Engine Mechanical problem
1995 GMC Van Automatic 265000 miles

My oil gauge keeps dropping to the line before 0 when I stop or park. I have checked the oil and it has enough oil in it so the oil level is not low. When I am driving the oil gauge reads half way so it is good then. After a long drive when I park the car then go back and crank it shortly later it starts but then dies and the gauge is on the 0. Then I crank it again and the gauge goes back to the middle and it is fine until I drive for a while again. The engine is not making any knocking noises or smoking and the muffler is not smoking and there is no weird smell or burning smell coming from the car so I do not know what is wrong with it. I worry it might be the sensor or the oil pump and that it will eventually throw a rod or something from the motor not getting enough oil.
