I put it in drive it just made the loud grinding noise from underneath the truck?

I was wondering if the transmission went out or it hopefully something else. I broke down a couple of days ago, I went to go see what was wrong with it and I put it in drive it just made the loud grinding noise from underneath the truck and I wont go and where unless its in reverse or in 1 or 2 gear but in those two gears it still makes a very loud grinding noise but not in reverse. Thank u for any help.

Yes, it sounds like you had an internal hard part failure. Just to give you an idea most transmission repair shops will not just do a quick fix but rather they will require a full rebuild. A transmission like your 4L60E will be in the ball park of $2,000.00 for a rebuild to give you an idea depending on your area and what kind of repair shop you take it to. Here is a tutorial showing how to remove and replace a manual transmission which is similar:
