1993 GMC Sonoma

I have a 1993 GMC Sonoma and 2 days ago I drove from Elk River, MN to Anoka, MN and when I got there almost $20 of gas that I had just put in the truck was gone and we dont see anywhere that the truck is leaking the gas out of. Coming out of the broke exhaust is a thick white smoke and alls you can smell is straight gasoline when the truck is running and the smoke is coming out. Any ideas on what could be wrong with my truck? Where is the gas going if I dont see it leaking out onto the ground anywhere?

I had a 94 and it took 5 gals to go 14 miles. The line from the tank was broken an dleaking from the sending unit. If you can smell gas you have aleak someplace. Crawl under the truck and see if you see it by the tank. If it is the best thing to do is disconnect the electrical at the back of the box, undo al the bolts (8) and lieft the box backward to get to the sending unit which will have to be replaced. Delco stil makes this about $275 and eiher use the old pump or a new one. If you used that much gs in an engine it would probably hydraulically lock up. But check all along the fuel line if it's leaking you'll see it.
