I have a 2000 sierra, 2500, 130,000 miles. Doesnt leak anything, but while I was driving home last night I was going up hill and I lost power steering and power brakes. I looked at fluid levels in both the brake resovior and the power steering resovoir, they are both fine. There arent any messages in teh message center in the gauges. I called the dealer ship and they said it was a power steering assist, runs about 500 bucks, but I wanted to see what you guys think before I go do that.

It's usually the red handle in the back of the engine. You will need to buy a trannny funnel and put it in the dipstick tube. Don't overfill or you will have shifting and jerking issues!
