I have a 2000 model GMC sierra it has a Vortec 4300 V6 engine with 75,000 miles. I love this truck but its doing me no good if I cant count on it to get me home at night. I got in in to go home the other day I put the key and and turned it to the start position and nothing happened no lights or anything so that happens a few more times and then it starts for just a few seconds before it dies. I finally get it to start but its ideling at aroung 2700 rpm's after a few minutes it goes to around 1000 and I take off but I notice that it is accelerating more without me pushing the gas. I have no clue what is wrong with it and I recently replaced the fuel filter. Thank you for any suggestions

Well we can start with when you said you turn the key and nothing happens, grab the battery cables and see if you can turn them by hand like a quarter of a turn and see what happens, if this gets you started the terminals need to be cleaned we will go from there
