Knocking Engine

I have a 96 GMC 3/4 ton P/U 5.7L-128000 miles. My engine knocks really loudly upon start-up but goes away after it's warmed up. I also have a front intake manifold leak(Could this be the cause for the knocking?) . What needs to be removed to do an intake manifold job? Thanks!

It very well could. To replace it you have to take off the throttle body, air intake hoses, IAT sensor and remove the bolts.
