My GMC Sierra is a 2001. Engine is a V-8 Vortex 4.8 Liter. Odometer is approx.30,000 miles. Automatic trans. Truck starts quickly on cold starts, however truck will idle slightly rough when engine warms up. When truck sits for about 15 minutes to 2 hours or so, it takes about 5 to 10 seconds before it starts. If you don't give it gas right away then it may stall, and you can smell a fuel scent after starting. Also, coming off freeway to a stop, sometimes truck may stall but will restart easily. Fuel filter has been replaced and carburater cleaner has been used to correct the problem, with no improvement. Truck has full running power when accelerating. Thanks.

No codes?
Check the fuel pressure when the problem is happening. Check with the key on engine (koeo) on when the problem is present. Pressure HAS to be at least 61 psi, nothing less. IF it is, get a pump and and replace the elctrical connector to the pump.

Also, Check the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator, if there is fuel in it, replace it. This is probably the questionable part as your smelling raw fuel.
