1996 GMC Sierra 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

why can't i get the starter to come out all bolts are removed including the inspection cover i can't get to the wiring too remove the nuts i've tried every thing possible what gives?????

Check on end of housing for a brace from armature bolts to block
